Citizens For The Constitution is a group formed for Americans who value their Constitutional rights. We have seen our rights eroded over the years while our elected officials do what is in their best interest. We want to stand up for our rights and let our voices be heard before we lose the right to do so. We are forming a citizens protest at the National Mall in Washington DC on July 26th, 2009. This is a peaceful gathering to remind our elected officials of our nation’s core values.
pcan , this place look's great . Let's hope we get some good imput for a mission statement & press release . Heard from Stein yet ? He could be without power . This ice storm was a Bad one ! It even produced thunder & lightining , which is odd to say the least for around here .
ReplyDeleteI am realy excited about the march . I am fed-up with the fed ! This bailout stuff & the attack on the constitution . The stepping up of the attacks on our rights & freedoms . This , sadly , is Not the same America I was born in !
Looks GREAT pcan....
ReplyDeleteThe Bill of Rights are Human Rights. Without them, we are subjects instead of Idividuals.
Mission Statement Idea:
It is our Mission to reinstate the Bill of rights as they were intended...For the people and By the people...not interpreted by Gov't.
Great idea GC , but let me expand a little ? Something on the lines of a new bill of rights ? Or would that be to hoakie? You know like "We STILL have the right ......" ? With a preamble of all the rights we have and will lose ......
ReplyDeleteI am an Idea man , Not a poet ... lol
Back in the long-ago when I took Con Law, it was made very plain that the amendments did not grant unto the citizenry a right. That right existed before the Constitution, and, indeed, before the British Crown, or even Sargon of Akkad. God gave us these rights. What the Constitution did was to tell the gummint that these rights were not to be messed with. A'tall.
ReplyDeleteOur fine legislative reps, our wonderful judiciary and the ever-vigilant sturmtruppen of the executive branch have tromped all over these rights over the last 180 years. We don't need a new one. We need to enforce the one we've got.
