Welcome to the Citizens For The Constitution Blog. Anyone who values the Constitution of the United States and does not want to see Washington DC take away any more of their rights is welcome.

  1. Optimist here. This is a fine start, and I understand that Sam and Pcanhot have been the prime movers in this effort. Now I realize that there are some definite things needed to get a movement off the ground. One thing is a place to get a phone call through to the head shed, and somebody to screen the calls and get info posted to this site, and whatever else it grows into.

A second thing that will eventually be needed is a dedicated server, someplace where it can be set up with security, to keep the younglings from posting Zombie Crossing Alerts and similar bandwidth eaters....

I was quite disappointed to discover a conflict which kept me out of your conference call the other night. You can reach me by e-mail at ridgerider8mm@yahoo.com or rinderpest@cox.net, and I'll get you a phone number within the next week.

  2. Welcome Optimist ! Sam here . You sir are correct . We got a start last night , But hope to have another con-call on Feb. 4 or 5 at 8 pm est. All times EST. btw . (DC time just made sence). Other than that , Figured this place would be a good start for figuring out things like what you just stated . Hopefully pcan & yourself can get together on the computer stuff , seeing as how I'm technologically impaired ... We were also hoping that mauserboy might agree to help with the computer stuff ?

  3. Sam, the 4th will work for a conference call. The 5th will not. I have a standing obligation on Tuesday and Thursday nights, from 6 until 9 PM CST. This would make a nice planning site, and I expect that we have some really sharp computer folks who have much more recent experience than mine. Heck, I still have Lotus 1-2-3 and WordPerfect on a couple of my older machines.

My name is Barry Tabor (yep, I'm one of those Tabors) and I live out in the country between Alma and Mountainburg, Arkansas. I've been mixed up in politics and fundraising since 1962, when Mom commandeered me for stuffing envelopes for the American Cancer Society's annual fund drive in Kermit, Texas. Then she got involved in trying to keep LBJ out of office, and get Goldwater in in 1964. The Internet makes things much easier, believe me.

  4. O.K Everyone see this ? Feb. 4th 8 pm est. Email me or pcan for the #'s if you dont have them yet . I think pcan said up to a hundred can call in , but after the other night , I believe 10 or 15 would be all I personally could keep up with .

I saw Ky Mike posted a link on the RKBA forum . Pherhaps if one of you are already a member there , you can post that we'd like to work together ? The link said they were planning it for 2010 , WE CAN NOT wait that long . Obammy's pen is on fire & he'll sign our rights away before 2010 !! It also said GunOwners . Personally , I do not think that is a good idea . Be a war-zone waiting to happen on behalf of nervous LEO's etc. You guys Know it ! ALL it would take is ONE idiot to yell Gun & tear gas WILL spray !

I think using the word Gun , or weapon , Or even 2nd amendment will be asking for trouble . Make it about ALL rights dont ya think ???

  5. HA! After having trained / certified with capsicum oleoresin, something like tear gas is just down right delicous! ha! seriously though I agree, we dont need to draw negative attention to ourselves...wouldnt be prudent.
At this point we need to start checking on when our next gun shows will be held and finding out about getting tables so that we can distribute information, gather support and members. Lets do the same with visiting VFW's, American Legions, lets get them involved. Drop off flyers at our local gun shops and any place else that you can think of that might support our cause. Let's do keep in mind to include other organizations other than gun owners and point out that this is not just about the 2A, that it encompasses the entire Bill of Rights and the Constitutionband impacts us all in one way or another. Keep in mind that there are going to be many that will be appathetic, that's expected but please dont get discouraged. History has it that the U.S. Marine Corps was born out of a small tavern in 1775, and that motivation was started by one Marine Captain. This can be done.

  6. Barber shops, beauty shops, service station, tire stores and garages. The local grocery store is another good place to start. Most of these have a bulletin board. I don't think that most of the WalMarts will help, though some of them have posted related notices in Sporting Goods in years gone by.

Think grass roots, and emphasize the tax things too. With Income Tax Day (April 15) on the way, it is a logical place to open a second avenue of approach. We will need to train folks in specific ways to deal with DemLib hecklers, and with hostile media. Some of you have seen the 13 point Saul Alinsky JPFO article. For those who haven't, http://www.jpfo.org has it along with a variety of back articles going back several years.

USMC founding? I understand that there were some truly prodigious quantities of hard cider involved in that founding.... Suspect good BBQ would produce too much of a satisfied feeling to make for first-class rabble-rousing....
